Message The Z is virtually bulletproof. They easily pull 200-300k miles. So with say 2-5K You could have have Z shaped up to spec with cosmetic repairs it would look like new and be good for years to come. Best of all you would still have a Z.

With 10-12K you could have it be almost brand new. Imagine that in today's market. A like NEW car for 10-12K.

I wrestle with this from time to time. I'm tempted to get a new car, But the Z is such a great car, Easily one of the best vehicles ever made. It's so timeless and fun. Compliments Galore. When i look at my car, I'm still in love with it. It's like having a hot woman as a loving wife who always makes you look good and never let's you down. The way the paint looks in the Sun, the curvy front fenders, headlights, the perfectly executed rear end etc.... But my girl is as nice on the insde as the outside. Have you noticed that the interior is not dated? It fit's with today's cars better then some of today's cars, lol!

Whenever i consider a new car purchase, i look at the

1. Downpayment
2. Monthly payment
3. Dealer costs
4. New insurance rates
5. $$ Money pissed away on Interest

Add it all up and I'll be out a few thousand to drive off the lot, then come the payments and I'll still be driving a car i'll only call "transportation" with payments for 3-5 years. It would not be so bad if there was a car out there today that i could feel some passion about.

The older the Z get's the more i appreciate it for the sturdiness of the chassis, the thicker sheet metal, It's stable weight etc...Today's cars are all about cost cutting, budgets and thin metal.

This was a car that Japan built with national pride and it shows. Today all the cars are just commecialised crap IMO. Cars of the quality, timelessness, workmanship and spirit are becoming extinct in today's day and age. So in the end, with so many parts being still available for our car with no end in sight, I will keep My beloved faithfull Z for good.

Thank you and sorry for the rant.
